Joseph Arthur’s Bio

Discovered by Peter Gabriel in the mid-1990s and signed to Real World Records, Joseph Arthur has forged a unique path as both a globally acclaimed musician and a visionary visual artist. Gabriel hosted Arthur for a six-month private residency in his personal penthouse, where Arthur developed a major body of visual work.

Inspired by Jean-Michel Basquiat and the street-art movement, Arthur paints with emotional immediacy and improvisational urgency. He frequently integrates live painting into musical performances, creating immersive audiovisual experiences. His paintings have been exhibited and collected across North America, Europe, and Asia.
